Train Advise Assist Command - East


MISSION
TAAC-East, in full partnership with the Afghan Government and joint, interagency, intergovernmental, and multinational organizations, conducts functionally-based security force assistance through train, advise, assist to enable a credible, capable, increasingly sustainable Afghan National Defense and Security Forces capable of preventing terrorist safe havens in eastern Afghanistan. TAAC-E conducts the TAA mission with the 201st ANA Corps and 202nd ANP Zone.

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
TAAC-East includes the provinces of Kapisa, Kunar, Laghman, Nangarhar, Nuristan, Panjshayr and Parwan. TAAC-East shares a portion of the border with Pakistan. Currently, there are approximately 1,000 coalition forces and 40,000 ANDSF operating in the command's AOR.
