CSM Maurice Jackson is a native of Birmingham, Alabama and enlisted in the Army in August 1987. He received his Basic and Advanced Individual Training as an Infantryman at Fort Benning, GA. After the completion of Basic and Advanced Individual Training, CSM Jackson served with 1-9 IN (Manchu's), 7ID at Fort Ord, CA; 2-7 IN, 24ID at Fort Stewart, GA where he deployed to Desert Shield/Storm; 3-12 IN, 1AD at Baumholder, Germany; Henry Caro NCOA as a SGL at Fort Benning, GA; 2-19 IN at Fort Benning, GA as a Senior Drill Sergeant; 1-6 IN, 1AD at Baumholder, Germany whom he deployed with to Macedonia and Iraq, 2-58 IN at Fort Benning, GA; 4-2 Stryker Cavalry Regiment at Vilseck, Germany whom he deployed with to Afghanistan, 4-3 IN at Fort Myer, VA as the Battalion CSM, 3-4 IN at Baumholder, Germany whom he deployed with to Afghanistan as the Battalion CSM, CSM of Operations Group at the NTC, BDE CSM for 2ABCT at Fort Riley, Rear Division CSM for 1ID, Division CSM for 1CD, whom he deployed with to Afghanistan, Operation Freedom Sentinel, and the Rear III Corps CSM while the Corps HQ deployed to Iraq.

 

CSM Jackson has attended numerous military schools and training courses to include Bradley Master Gunner Course, Drill Sergeant School, Airborne School, Pathfinder School, Battle Staff Course, First Sergeant Course, Master Fitness Course, and the Basic Instructor Course. CSM Jackson is a graduate all PME courses, the United States Sergeants Major Academy (Class 57), the Sergeants Major Force Management Course, the Brigade Pre-Command/CSM Course, the Battalion Pre-Command/CSM Course, the Executive Leaders Course, and the Keystone Leaders Course. He obtained a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Administration from Excelsior College, NY on 13 May 2007.

CSM Jackson's awards and decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal with a "C” Device, Legion of Merit with 3 OLC, Bronze Star Medal with 3 OLC, Meritorious Service Medal with 4 OLC, Army Commendation Medal with 4 OLC, Army Achievement Medal with 1 Silver leaf and 3 OLC, Good Conduct Medal (10th award), National Defense Medal with 2 bronze service star, South Asia Service Medal with 3 bronze service stars, Kosovo Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with 2 bronze stars, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon with numeral 6, Army Service Ribbon, NATO Medal 3 Awards, 2 Combat Infantryman Badges, Expert Infantryman Badge, Basic Airborne Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Drill Sergeant Badge, and Order of St. Maurice Medal.
