Resolute Support condemns Kabul attack
22 Aug 2015
KABUL, Afghanistan (Aug. 22, 2015) — Headquarters Resolute Support strongly condemns the attack in Kabul this afternoon that killed three Resolute Support contracted civilians, as well as several innocent Afghan civilians, and wounded dozens more, including women and children.
"Instead of seizing an opportunity to embrace peace, insurgents have again chosen violence in an attempt to remain relevant,” said Brig. Gen. Wilson Shoffner, Resolute Support Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications. "Regardless of the target of their attacks, insurgents continue to inflict a heavy toll on innocent Afghan civilians.”
On behalf of General Campbell, Headquarters Resolute Support expresses its deepest condolences to those affected by this contemptible act of violence. We remain committed to assisting our Afghan partners in achieving sustainable security and stability.
